It seems obvious, but just pouring hot water over any tea leaf will not always produce great results! One of the most common mistakes I have found is pouring boiling water onto Green tea which can scorch the tea leaf and make it very bitter to drink.
Knowing how to pick good quality tea, is the first step as each tea has the ability to create a warm embrace. It is much like pairing wine as knowing the right tea can enhance a conversation with friends, or relax them when they are stressed.
The water quality; temperature; amount of tea and brewing time are all aspects that can make a huge difference. Follow our guidelines below so that you can enjoy drinking your cuppa a whole lot more.
- Water: Use filtered and freshly boiled water
- Ratio: 1 tsp to 220 mls water
- Temperature: 100 degrees for black and herbal, near-to-boiling for green (and orientals)
- Brewing Time: Steep for the recommended time as per directions on package.
