It probably comes as no surprise that Immunity is one of our best sellers at the moment in the colder, winter months. Many of our customers not only love the refreshing flavour but find it a really powerful tea to help chase away the winter sniffles. So what's in it to make it so beneficial? Below are the ingredients of our Immunity blend along with the medicinal properties of each herb. This blend features some of my favourite Australian natives- Lemon Myrtle and Eucalyptus- that are freshly plucked and processed from our growers when we order, which no doubt contributes to Immunity's powerful healing benefits.
Echinacea Purpurea and Echinacea angustifolia
helps the body fight infection by stimulating the lymph glands and increasing the production of white blood cells.
Sambuccus nigra
Elder flowers are used in the treatment of colds, flu and cattarrhal inflammation of the upper respiratory tract such as hayfever or sinusitis. Elder berries are rich in vitamin C, sweet-tasting and commonly used to treat inflammation, fever and to soothe the respiratory tract.
Eucalyptus globulus
Assists in clearing the airways and in making breathing easier. It is a traditional remedy for colds, flu, sinusitis and throat infections and may help ease nasal congestion and coughs.
Backhousia citriodora
Has anti-viral, anti-fungal and antiseptic qualities and is useful in the treatment of respiratory illness.
Rosa rubiginosa
One of the best natural and freely available sources of vitamin C. Boosting levels of vitamin C helps to fight infection.
Zingiber officinalis
Effective in easing sore throats and encourages perspiration in feverish conditions such as the flu.
Glycyrrhiza glabra
Soothes the mucous membranes and has a long history of use in helping to ease coughs, sore throats and asthma.
Enjoy,
Sarita
