At times of such devastation and crisis in our community, we see that it's love that's shining through. It conquers all! This pic below was taken by @paddock_project in Mullumbimby in the aftermath of the floods in late February.
What the Northern Rivers community has achieved to help clean up and take care of each other is nothing short of incredible. Every day people have gone above and beyond to lend a hand- whether it is prepare/cook food; clean houses & businesses; organise private rescues and food drops; offer their medical or naturopathy services and so much more.
There are some lyrics to a song that really resonates with me right now called Love is the Answer by England Dan and John Ford Coley and I have shared them below. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I do!
If you are keen to help out but don’t live in the area, you may be interested in our fundraiser with all proceeds going to Resilient Byron. This is a local organisation that’s coordinating the community-led flood response and serving the Northern Rivers with 100% of funds going straight back into the community care and critical crisis operations. We love this organisation and what they are doing!
